A hectic Week!

What a week and its only just Monday so far.

We took a trip to Kilkenny at the weekend to visit the new boutique "Smoking Lily" on Kieran's St. It's going to be an absolutely intriguing style haven with a mixture of treasures all under the one roof. Stylista boutique owner Shona has a vision for her boutique with different areas showcasing, fashion exchange (where you can consign with Shona and bring in all your hidden fashion gems gathering dust in your wardrobe), an exclusive Vintage den, where Irish Vintage Brand "Perk Up" will keep you stocked up on stunning glamour from yesteryear, different sections dedicated to select Irish Designer and featuring yours truelly. Yes it's official gals, we are going to have our very first featured presence in a brick and mortar store! So now there will be a bonzie vendor where you can go and pick up a piece for your own wardrobe.

We will be stocking up on tatter tees, bags, accessories and much more over the coming weeks in anticipation for the offical launch at the end of the month. Hope to see you guys there. :)

ps. bring a smile, Shona is a doll and loves company!

Tomorrow Night my father will be launching his Photographic Exhibition in Cahir, Co.Tipperary so I am really looking forward to attending and blogging about that. I have already seen a few samples for the showcase and I was blown away by the pictures so far. Will keep you posted on how that goes. :) (ps. good luck Dad!!!, so proud of you!)

Friday Night I'm heading out to my pal Caz's theatre show in Waterford by Push Pull productions. Caz won a competition last year for scriptwriting and this weekend sees her play come to fruition in a gorgeous theatre venue in the City.

Saturday Night we are heading to Kilkenny for the launch of our pal Blainnead Hennessey's new commerical photographic studio "Shutterbug". An absolutely stunning venue for fashion/editorial/commercial photography run by brother and sister Blainnead ( Irish Interiors Writer and fame) and Eoin (Professional Irish Photographer).

Sunday Night ( this particular one is on a bank holiday so nobody has work on Monday) however I'm just pooped writing about this weeks shindigs, I can't imagine being up for a night out on Sunday too, however you never know how the weekend shapes up.

All this and a collection to be working on too, not to mention a very exciting project on the way!! More about that soon. :) Well a girls gotta keep busy. xxx

Back on Home Turf

What an adventure!!! I'm back from my girls trip to Vegas , needless to say there was all sorts of shenanigans, none of which quite make it through the blog filter so we shall say it was a wonderful experience and one which I won't be forgetting anytime soon. :)

There's a few tumbleweeds sweeping through the blog at the moment as I have been busy this week catching up on orders and correspondence. I got back to a few lovely emails from clients who have been busy rocking their bonzie pieces out and about. I'm gonna post the pics over the rest of the week to share them with you too.
The first of those to hit our inbox and bring a smile into our day was our gorgeous bride Carolina who recently married her sweetheart and chose a bonzie Venetian wrap to compliment her gown. I love the couture look of the overall ensemble and I absolutely adore this picture, what a gorgeous couple!

Congrats to Carolina and her handsome new hubbie!

So very excited to be heading off on my holliers tomorrow with my gal pals to Las Vegas for a week! It will be my first time on a girlie holiday as aswell as my first trip to Vegas which I've been hearing is an experience of a lifetime.

It's really nice to get away on holidays and Ger will be back at bonzie headquarters taking care of everyone so it's business as usual! ( not sure I will be so calm when it's Ger's turn to go to Spain) lol

So heading off on our 18hour journey to Las Vegas , destined for the Circus,Circus Hotel! Who knows, I may even runaway with the circus over there! who knows.

Now heres hoping the Ash Cloud will be in a good mood on Thursday morning when we are due to fly out. It's been playing havoc with flights recently so here's hoping we get out on our dream holiday as planned. :)

see you all when I get back. x

Gals, we have noticed a surge in brides getting in touch lately as a result of our recent National publicity. We have also seen a rise in emails/convos requesting more information on the ordering process so I figured it might be a good idea to run a detailed post on how to order your bonzie bridal bolero and hopefully to answer some of your frequently asked questions. ;)

You Can order your "bonzie bridal bolero" with us from our online store at

All the boleros listed are generally showcased in standard size US 6 (UK 10), so if you are lucky enough to be a standard size and find the bolero from our store that you like, simply click on the green "add to cart" button on the right hand side of the pictures and etsy will guide you through the checkout process in a few easy steps. However, if your keen to have a different size or want the same bolero but in a different shade then the Steps below should help you make that happen in time for your special day.

STEP 1. Choose the bolero style from our store that you want.
Proceed to checkout by clicking on the green button on the righthand side of the pictures that says "add to cart" , please don't worry about the size listed, you can simply leave us a note in the "message to seller" section of the checkout process that you require a different size and measurements are to follow. ( we supply from sizes 0-14 )

STEP 2. Provide your measurements via email or convo.

Heres a wee list of measurements that we would need to best ensure a good fit for your piece:
· Bust measurement in inches
· Bra size
· Clothing size ( specify US or UK sizing)
· Upper Back measurement ( see pic above titled UPPER BACK GUIDE)
STEP 3. Check that your address is correct.

We like to know that we are sending your package out to the correct address so if you think that your address is saved on your etsy or paypal account in any way incomplete, simply send us an email/convo to update us of your correct destination.

STEP 4. Put the feet up and wait, your bolero is on the way!

You should expect to receive your bolero within 1-2weeks of making your purchase. N.B, we will need to know your measurements promptly too if your in a hurry for your piece, as we won't be able to create your bolero unless you have provided these for us. :) When you purchased your bolero on etsy, you were charged a shipping/handling cost. This payment covers Irish Registered Post which allows online tracking so both the buyer and seller can follow the parcels journey as it makes its merry way to you! It's important to note here that we are both relying on the postal service to be operating at normal service, if perhaps a Volcano Ash crisis grounds planes or a Christmas holiday pops up, then you could expect to see a wee delay during these times, usually just a couple of days, so give yourself plenty of time to order and receive your piece. Whilst we have seen our boleros reach US clients within 5 days it is always best to account for a longer period of time when planning your special day to avoid any disappointment.

If you find your dream bolero from our stock but would prefer to change the sleeves that is perfectly doable. There is an additional charge for labour and material when adding different sleeves to an existing bolero design. If you want to avail of this alteration, simply get in touch prior to making any purchase and we will create a special "reserved" listing in our store which will include the additional sleeve alteration cost.

-capped sleeve (15dollars), 3/4length sleeve (20dollars), long sleeve (25dollars)

We have a range of shades available in our studios and most of our silk boleros seen above can be requested in any of these shades at no extra cost at all! So if you fancy adding a pop of color to your bridal ensemble please get in touch before purchase and check availability with us on the color your keen on and we can confirm for you if it is in stock or not. :)

Here at bonzie designs, we appreciate that it can be very difficult making a purchase online and near impossible to get the exact match of ivory/white etc to your dress by looking at a picture alone, so we offer to send our brides shade swatches to compare with their own gowns so they can make a comfie purchase having chosen the right shade from our range. To order your swatches simply get in touch and let us know the following details

- full name, mailing address, shades your keen to try

As a result of being based in Ireland(Europe) and selling through a U.S based site to an International market we are quite used to dealing with different currencies, however we appreciate that it may be a little daunting for our clients, so heres the skinny on currency.

There is a very handy currency converter online which can convert from US dollars into any currency you like so you can see instantly what the cost is in your local currency. This is at . We are also going to be adding Euros and Sterling prices into our listings in our online shop so you can see currency conversions at a glance.

Also, although our online store is a U.S based site and displays in Dollars, the purchasing process is a piece of cake and you will be guided through the checkout and given the option to pay with either your credit card or paypal account, where the currency conversion is done automatically , so no need to worry about currency at all from a purchasing point of view.

We hope that helps with your bolero queries, and we look forward to meeting you in our etsy store. where your bridal bolero is our special service. :)

Your bolero is handmade from our design studios in Ireland , with lots of love too! Aunt and Niece, Ger and Yvonne create each piece with meticulous care and attention and enjoy being a part of your special day!!

Elite Model Look Launch Party

Elite Model Launch Party

Elite Model Launch Party in Krystle's Nightclub Dublin April 30th
What a view! Pic taken from the party section of Krystles Nightclub. An open air section of the club, absolutely stunning venue!

Irish Elite Model Grace Connell from Limerick and bonzie busting a move on the dancefloor!
Grace was a doll!
My Plus One!! My pal Caz accompanied me to the event and wasn't long about getting into the swing of things!
Caz and I had the good fortune to be in the company of this gorgeous creature: Anna Saccone. An absolutely gorgeous vision to look at but incredibly sweet and positive person. She has an infectious spirit and we were really enjoying her company on the night! Anna is Ireland's most subscribed female on Youtube. She runs a highly successful channel for young women in Ireland and has just published her first book: her message is loud and clear! Change your style, Not yourself!!!!
We Love Her! (more about Anna later)

My first bevvie! (if you exclude the bottle of pink bubbly we had in the hotel!eek)
bonzie, Grace Connell (Elite Model) and the uber stylish Maria Fusco (Top Irish Stylist Legend!!)

bonzie and Gorgeous Georgina Heffernan! (RTE Fashion Editor)
Georgina is incredibly supportive of our work. We adore her. :)

Myself and Caz.
Anna Saccone & Me. :)
Film genius Jonathan Joly in the background capturing the event on film. Will be posting this up later too. Caz and I made the cut aswell as a lovely interview with RTE Fashion Editor, Georgina Heffernan. All round an absolutely fabulous night. We don't get to participate in many such events given that we live down the South and most of these nights take place in Dublin, but I have to say it was a terrific launch and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I met with Sebastian Castrillon, the president of Elite Model Management who was probably the most stylish male on the night, Suit: Tom Ford complete with a diamond brooch no less! Sebastian was so welcoming and hosted the night with elegance and flair! On a side note, amongst the celebs there on the night I got a glimpse of Kamal Ibrahim, the Irish Male Model who has just snatched the title of Mr World.....well ladies, I can safely say, I don't think a title was EVER so well deserved!! An absolute vision of a man , god bless him! ..and my favourite bit is he is very pleasant and all round "sound" as they say here in Ireland! Congrats on the win Kamal, we salute you and your beautiful packaging. :)
ps. For some unknown reason, and possibly just a lucky twist of fate, Caz and I arrived to our hotel, having booked a pretty standard, cheap and cheerful room, only to be met by a super friendly receptionist who informs us that we have been upgraded to the suite room!! We were chuffed to bits! It's not everyday that happens and we certainly made the most of it! Thanks to Grafton Capital Hotel, Dublin for a wonderful stay, we will be back. We bought the staff a box of choccies to say thanks!
